On the Web again...

So, this is my new old blog, and as you probably noticed, it's “full” of very old content, written by pre-CoViD me... Funnily, looking at the dates all of those old posts got published initially, it sure looks like they were the fruit of a “yes, this year I'm going to blog more frequently” mindset (a theory I can neither deny nor confirm). This very post is actually the 1st one ever published during the second half of the year!

During my previous attemps at blogging and/or podcasting (and yes, there had been quite a few!), I always had some kind of target audience and/or main topic in mind. I wanted to reach out to other people, and hopefully teach them things, or at the very least allow them to discover something new. But in the end, I'm no journalist, and my interests evolve pretty much constantly, in ways even I barely understand at times.

This time, I'd like things to be different. I don't want to stick to a single topic. I don't want to feel like I owe whatever audience I may have a new post. I certainly don't want to avoid writing a post about X or Y just because “it doesn't fit within the existing content”. Because I believe I have thoughts and opinions worth writing, if not for others, at least for myself. Get those out of my brain and lie them down on my screen, in a context where I can take the time to think, to actually develop my ideas, up to a point where I feel that it represents my thoughts as accurately as possible. I want to get past the limitations of spoken words, to be able to un-say a sentence that was poorly constructed or ambiguous, and rework it as much and as many times as I deem necessary.

And maybe, along the way, I'll write something worth reading?
